Coriander Seeds Decoction for a Heavy Menstrual Flow

Today is day 2 of my period. I have an excessive bleeding that caused lower back pain (7/10), lower abdomen pain (4-5/10), and right leg pain(3-4/10). I can describe the lower back pain as being hit with a baseball bat over and over again. It felt like my lower back was going to break. I took ibuprofen in the morning, but after one hour it didn’t relieve the pain at all. I cried 😭😭😭

I texted my doctor to update my symptoms today. She called me, told me to take some of my Ayurvedic medicines and also to make decoction from coriander seeds and a cup of water. What I need was

1 tbsp of coriander seeds (I use coriander seed powder) + 1 cup of water

Boil it with medium heat until only half cup left, for about 8-10 minutes. Drink whilst it warms.

The question is why coriander seeds?

Coriander seeds contain natural stimulants that stimulate your endocrine glands to secrete and maintain proper hormone balance, which ensures that the associated pain with the cycle is reduced, and excess flow is alleviated

This source also mentioned a different way to make a coriander seeds decoction:

What You Need

6 g coriander seeds

1 teaspoon of sugar

1 liter water

What You Have To Do

Boil 6 grams of coriander seeds in half a liter of water.

Add a teaspoon of sugar when the water has been reduced to half.

Drink the mixture while it is still warm.

How Often Should You Use It

This mixture should be consumed thrice a day daily.

I didn’t use sugar or honey at all in my decoction, it tasted so awful. I almost puke 🀒 So, my advice is to add a little bit of honey to kill the odd taste.

After about an hour my lower back pain has lessen to 3-4/10, lower abdomen pain has down to 2-3/10, and the leg pain has gone. The bleeding has been less heavy. So it works, yay! 😍

May PD7

– May Cycle Day 7 –

Today is day 7 of my cycle. The bleeding has stopped but the pain still here. I took 1 ibuprofen in the morning because I felt light lower back pain and lower abdomen pain. An hour after that I felt no pain at all.

At 4 pm I decided to take a walk to groceries store. I want to restart my walking exercise. I have been very lazy these last 4 months. I seldom did yoga and walk. I walked for 2.6km. When I arrived at the groceries store I have started to feel lower back pain and cramps. Now I’m on bus otw home, the pain has escalated to level 3-4. I need to survive until I arrives home. God help me πŸ™πŸΌ

Update:

I made it home. I walked like a snail but I made it! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I took one ibuprofen with ryes bread and water. Now I just need to wait for the medicine to work. I have ordered some food from A Chinese restaurant nearby my apartment, so it’s all good!

May PD5

Period day 5 was yesterday, it was quite easy. I had back pain, lower abdomen pain, and my favorite devil, rectum pain.

The rectum pain is so unbearable for me, it feels like someone is stabbing my rectum with knife. It goes so deep and painful, and it comes and goes anytime it wants. The pain will elevate after I go number 2. As a prevention, I usually take ibuprofen before I do my business πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜† OMG, why am I talking about this? It’s so gross! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

I ate doughnuts yesterday because my husband bought some green tea doughnuts for me. As you can guess, my uterus complained not long after I eat it. It’s the wheat and sugar. Welcome back inflammation! 😈😈😈

PAIN CHECKER

Pain level: 2-3/10

Symptoms: lower back pain, lower abdomen pain, rectum pain, swelly belly

May PD3

It’s day 3 of my period. I woke up at 1am because I felt so much pain on my lower back. I felt like somebody hit my lower back with baseball bat over and over again. I had cramps, it wasn’t the worst and I felt nauseous.

I took ibuprofen around 3:30am. Watched Family Guy so I can distract the pain while waiting the ibuprofen working. I fell asleep after a couple episodes and then woke up around 7am because of another series of pain.

I made honey lemon water, for detox. I had to wait for 30 minutes before I took ibuprofen with rice porridge that I bought last night. The pain was severe, especially the lower back pain. I could only cry while waiting the ibuprofen to react. I ordered papaya takeaway. I know it will help to reduce the inflammation. But I had to wait for 30 minutes for the delivery. When you’re in so much pain, even 30 minutes feels like forever.

It’s 10:18 now. The ibuprofen had been reacting, the pain level had decreased from 7 to 3/4. I also just ate my papaya, I don’t feel nauseous anymore.

My body’s feels so sore from the pain. I bleed so much, I felt that I have no energy. I don’t have any iron supplements, I might need to get a supply.

I feel so tired and beaten. This disease got me good. I need to get some rest.

March PD2: Miracle Day

Day 2

Total ibuprofen taken: 1

Symptoms: Heavy bleeding, Back pain (2-4/10), Lower abdomen pain (1/10)

Last cycle I took 4×200 mg ibuprofen on day 2. I had heavy bleeding, back pain (2-3/10), cramps (4-5/10), and nauseous.

I’m down from 4 to 1 ibuprofen. For me that’s a miracle! The endo diet works, the Ayurvedic medicines and supplements work. I’m very grateful!!! πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ

March PD1

Day 1

Total ibuprofen taken: 0

I decided to make my swelly belly picture as an art piece πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Period day 1 was quite easy. Other than my swelly belly, nothing really obvious happened. I had lower back pain (1/10) and lower abdomen pain (1/10). No ibuprofen taken. I toughened it up!

Last cycle I took 1 ibuprofen on day 1. A good progress 😊

My Medicines

I have two doctors who are treating my Adenomyosis. My first doctor is an Ayurvedic gynecologist from India, she has been treating me for more than a year now. She also sent me medicines when I had miscarriage. My second doctor is a local gynecologist here in China.

My Chinese gynecologist gave me some capsules that will help regulates my menstrual problem, it also helps relieve the pain. I have checked with my Indian gynecologist, she said it’s not contradicts my current medicines. So now I’m taking medicines from both doctors πŸ˜†

Because I ran out my Ayurvedic pills, for now I only take Ayurvedic decoction that mixed with 1tsp castor oil in the morning and only Ayurvedic decoction at night.

This drink tastes so bad, I always feel want to throw up after I drink it 😷😷😷 I always tell my self, “Drink it like a champ! Drink it like a champ!”. But after that… 😫😫😫😷😷😷

I’m still waiting for my new Ayurvedic medicines arrive, maybe next week. Meanwhile I have to survive the castor oil madness 😱😱😱
